Bookings
The Bookings module is the heart of your hotel management system. It handles all guest reservations, walk-in bookings, check-ins, and check-outs.
Creating a Booking
To create a new booking:
- Go to Bookings from the sidebar
- Click Add Booking
- Fill in the booking details
Booking Info Tab
Date Selection:
- Check-in Date: Guest's arrival date
- Check-out Date: Guest's departure date
- Total nights are automatically calculated
Booking Type:
- Reservation: Advance booking made before arrival
- Walk-in: Guest booking at the front desk upon arrival
Guest Selection:
- Select an existing guest from the dropdown
- Or quickly add a new guest using the add button
- Guest search with name filtering
Room Selection:
- Floor: Select the floor (filters available rooms)
- Room: Select from available rooms for the chosen dates
- Rooms are automatically filtered based on availability
- Booked and unavailable rooms are clearly marked
- Warning shown if no rooms are available for selected dates
Occupancy Details:
- Total Nights: Auto-calculated from check-in and check-out dates
- Adults: Number of adult guests (validated against room capacity)
- Children: Number of children


Booking Status
Bookings go through the following status lifecycle:
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Pending | Booking created but guest has not arrived |
| Confirmed | Booking confirmed |
| Checked In | Guest has arrived and checked in |
| Checked Out | Guest has completed their stay |
| Cancelled | Booking was cancelled |
| No Show | Guest did not arrive |
Booking Calendar
The Calendar view provides a visual timeline of all bookings, making it easy to:
- See occupancy across dates
- Identify gaps in bookings
- Plan room assignments

Add Payment from Booking
You can add payments directly from a booking by clicking the payment option, which allows you to:
- Record payment amounts
- Select payment method
- Track payment status
Add Review from Booking
When you change a booking status to Checked Out, a rating modal automatically opens. You can capture the guest's feedback at the time of check-out:
- Guest rating (1-5 stars)
- Guest comments

TIP
Always select check-in and check-out dates first before choosing a room. The system automatically checks room availability for the selected date range.
